3 Crucial Points to Get You on the Road to Huge Profits in Just 30 Minutes a Day!

Forex Trading

It's a fact that most people learn Forex trading the wrong way and lose - a whopping 95%. If you want to avoid them and join the elite 5% of winners, you can but you must understand these 3 points for Forex trading success...

The three points came to mind when reading of a famous trading experiment where trading legend Richard Dennis set out to prove that anyone could learn to trade.

He took a group of ordinary people and in just 14 days taught them, then set them up with accounts and they went on to make hundreds of millions of dollars.

In the above experiment, 3 points stand out that any trader should make an essential part of their Forex education.

1. A Simple System is all You Need

The system was simple. It was based on breakout methodology, long term in nature and so simple, that anyone could learn it and learn it quickly.

It's a big myth that complex systems work better than simple ones they don't.

Why?

Simple systems have an edge in that they're more robust, with fewer elements to break in the brutal world of Forex trading.

2. The Ability to Ride out Drawdown

Every system will lose at times and this one would lose for many weeks on end, the system had strict money management rules to follow, to preserve equity which the traders had to follow.

So far you are thinking this all sounds to simple and so far it is - but having a sound, logical Forex method is only part of the equation for success. The next key point we are going to cover is the hard part of Forex trading.

3. You Must have Discipline to Win!

Many traders have heard the word discipline is important and it is - but they don't fully understand just how hard it is to follow a system, through long periods of losses, as the market takes your money and makes you look a fool - it's hard!

You don't just get discipline, its based on a sound Forex education and knowing why your system will win longer term. Only then, will you have the discipline to carry on through a period of losses, keep them small and carry on until you hit a home run and profits.

The Fatal Mistake Most Traders Make

Is to think they can follow someone else and trade with no drawdown and just clean up each month. They fall for the hype sold to them by vendors of sure fire trading systems and robots and of course lose.

The reality as you have just seen, is trading success comes from within and is based upon - a simple system, rigid money management and an ability to take losses, stay on track and keep them small.

Anyone can win at Forex trading but most don't and a key point to keep in mind is the market doesn't beat the trader - the trader beats himself. I hope this article inspires you, to learn the points enclosed and get on the road to Forex trading success.

FOREX, Trading Foreign Currency

Forex: Buying and Selling Foreign Currency

The backbone of Forex is the buying and selling of foreign currencies and other financial instruments such as stocks and many more. Each currency has an equivalent value in terms of anther currency; this value is determined based on how one country’s economy is doing compared to the other.

This difference in currency value is what is taken into consideration when trading currencies. Most countries also have ways to control the ups and downs of their currency in terms of another. The institutions that are involved in Forex include banks, larger businesses, governments, and financial institutions.

Perfect Technical Analysis Creates Opportunities and Wealth

Technical analysis has been around for as long as there have been organized exchanges, but the futures trading communities didn`t accept technical analysis as a viable tool for making money until the late `70s and early `80s. Now nearly every futures trader uses some form of technical analysis. Here`s what the early technical analysts knew that it took the mainstream market community generations to catch on to.

A finite number of futures traders participate in the markets on any given day, week, or month. Many of these futures traders do the same kinds of things over and over in their attempt to make money. These individuals develop behavior patterns, and a group of individuals, interacting with one another on a consistent basis, form collective behavior patterns. These behavior patterns are observable and quantifiable, and they repeat themselves with statistical reliability. Technical analysis is a method that organizes this collective behavior into identifiable patterns. The patterns can give indications of when there is a greater chance of the market moving in one direction or another. In a sense, technical analysis allows you to get into the mind of the market, and anticipate what`s likely to happen next, based on the kind of patterns the market generated in the past.

As a method for projecting future price movement, technical analysis has turned out to be far superior to a purely fundamental approach. It keeps the futures trader focused on what the market is doing now in relation to what it has done in the past. This is instead of focusing on what the market should be doing based solely on what is logical and reasonable as determined by a mathematical model, as would be done in fundamental analysis.

Benefits of Currency Trading vs. Equity Trading

High liquidity and greater efficiency
Key to any efficient market is high liquidity. After all, as a trader, you want to know that you have an active market with plenty of buyers and sellers looking to participate. Trading volumes in the currency market can be one hundred times larger than that of the New York Stock Exchange, and daily dollar amounts traded in foreign currency approaches $3 trillion compared to less than $100 billion for the NYSE. High volumes and “round-the-clock” trading ensures an active market for currency traders and greater liquidity.

The incredible volumes traded in the FX market also contribute to the integrity of the market—it is virtually impossible for an individual or group to manipulate prices. Compare this to the equity markets, where large price movements can be triggered with no warning should a major holder of a stock suddenly decide to reduce their holdings.

Intra-day volatility
FX trading is centered around a handful of currency pairs referred to colloquially as the big seven. The high volume and liquidity combined with fewer active instruments generates greater intra-day volatility than the equity markets where hundreds of stocks are actively traded. It is this volatility that can be profitability exploited by forex traders.

Low spreads
Currency trading offers spreads that are much lower than what can be obtained when buying or selling equities, especially during after-hours trading. Although exceptionally tight currency spreads were previously reserved for transactions involving $1 million or more, a shift towards tighter spreads for smaller transactions is gaining traction. Again, OANDA's FXTrade is an industry leader in offering tight spreads regardless of the size of the trade.

Margin-based leverage
Leverage—or margin based trading—makes it possible for FX market participants to submit trades valued considerably higher than the deposits in their trading accounts. Typically, margin ratios for trading currencies are higher than those permitted for equities, and this is primarily attributable to the higher level of liquidity within the currency markets.
To illustrate the power of leverage provided through the use of margin, consider a margin ratio of 20:1 coupled with a trading account containing $10,000. This means that you could trade amounts up to $200,000! Trading in larger volumes allows you to take better advantage of even small price movements (but can also dramatically increases your risk). Read about OANDA's margin policy.

Profit potential regardless of market direction
By definition, an investor with an open forex position is long one currency and short another. If you determine that a currency is about to fall in value, then you can sell that currency short and go long with another currency. No matter whether you buy or sell a currency pair, however, every trade you make involves the buying of one currency and the selling of another. Therefore, potential exists in the FX market regardless of whether the market is moving up or down.

Short-selling is much less common in the equity markets and there are many rules and regulations that you must abide by when shorting stock. This can make it difficult for you to take advantage of a declining share price or market trend. These same restrictions do not apply to the FX market, thereby allowing you to gain no matter which direction the market heads.

No commissions or transaction costs
A currency transaction typically incurs no commission or transaction fee outside of the quoted spread. This is in stark contrast to the equity market, where commissions for stock trades can range anywhere from $8 to $70 per trade, in addition to the quoted spread.

Money Management Tips For Trading On The Forex

What is Money Management: describes strategies or methods a player uses to avoid losing their bankroll.

Money management in the foreign exchange currency market requires educating yourself in a variety of financial areas. First, a definition of the foreign exchange currency or forex market is called for. The forex market is simply the exchange of the currency of one country for the currency of another. The relative values of various currencies in the world change on a regular basis. Factors such as the stability of the economy of a country, the gross national product, the gross domestic product, inflation, interest rates, and such obvious factors as domestic security and foreign relations come into play. For instance, if a country has an unstable government, is expecting a military takeover, or is about to become involved in a war, then the country’s currency may go down in relative value compared to the currency of other countries.

The Forex, or foreign currency exchange, is all about money. Money from all over the world is bought, sold and traded. On the Forex, anyone can buy and sell currency and with possibly come out ahead in the end. When dealing with the foreign currency exchange, it is possible to buy the currency of one country, sell it and make a profit. For example, a broker might buy a Japanese yen when the yen to dollar ratio increases, then sell the yens and buy back American dollars for a profit.

There are five major forex exchange markets in the world, New York, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Tokyo and Zurich. Forex trading occurs around the clock in various markets, Asian, European, and American. With different time zones, when Asian trading stops, European trading opens, and conversely when European trading stops, American trading opens, and when American trading stops, then it is time for Asian trading to begin again.

Most of the trading in the world occurs in the forex markets; smaller markets for trade in individual countries. Simply put forex trading is the simultaneous buying of one currency and selling of another. Over $1.4 trillion dollars, US of forex trading occurs daily and sometimes fortunes are made or lost in this market. The billionaire George Soros has made most of his money in forex trading. Successfully managing your money in forex trading requires an understanding of the bid/ask spread.

Dollar Mixed Against Rivals

The U.S. dollar fell against its major trading partners Wednesday as investors digested a barrage of economic data ahead of the holiday.
The euro edged higher against the dollar to trade at $1.4006, from $1.3950 late Tuesday in New York.
The British pound remained weak against the dollar at $1.4752 from $1.4759. The pound fell sharply in the previous session after the U.K. government reported that the country's gross domestic product contracted by 0.6% in the third quarter.
Against the Japanese yen, the dollar dipped to ¥90.50 from ¥90.89.

"Markets are looking relatively quiet ahead of the holiday with the U.S. dollar generally weaker," said Steve Malyon, currency strategist at Scotia Capital in Toronto. He added that currency traders will be focused on economic data released earlier.
Trading is expected to be light with many market participants on vacation. U.S. stock markets will close early at 1 p.m. ET and remain shut on Thursday for the Christmas holiday.
Markets in Germany are closed Wednesday and Thursday. Most other European markets will also stop trading early Wednesday.

In addition to light participation, many investors have closed their books for the year and are not planning to make any large moves until 2009.
Still, the currency market will have to make sense of a flurry of economic data released early Wednesday.
In another sign of deterioration in the job market, the Department of Labor said the number of people filing initial unemployment insurance claims rose more than expected last week.
New jobless claims rose to 586,000 in the week ended Dec. 20. That's an increase of 30,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 556,000, and is more than the 558,000 total forecast by economists.

Wednesday's report revealed the highest number of jobless claims since Nov. 27, 1982, when initial filings hit 612,000,
Meanwhile, new orders of durable manufactured goods fell for the fourth month in a row, according to the Census Bureau.
Durable goods orders fell 1% to $1.9 billion in November. Excluding orders related to transportation, new orders increased 1.2%.

Still, the decline was not as sharp as expected. Economists had forecast goods orders to sink 3.1% after plummeting 6.2% in October - the biggest decline since 2006.
Separately, the Commerce Department said both personal income and spending decreased in November.
Personal income dipped 0.2% after a modest 0.3% increase in October. The reading was expected to be flat.

Personal spending fell 0.6% versus a decline of 1% the month before. But the figure was better than the 0.8% decline that economists were expecting.
Markets in Asia ended lower with the Hang Seng in Hong Kong falling 0.26%. Major indexes in Europe were lower near the close of trading.
